Tennessee Oncology, a leading community-based cancer care specialist, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Medical Assistant to provide exceptional patient care and support to our oncology team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Measure and record patient vital signs, including height, weight, and temperature.
  • Screen patients for pain, distress, and clinical depression, and document results.
  • Review medication lists and preferred pharmacies with patients and update Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) accordingly.
  • Assist with patient preparation for examinations and treatments, ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Manage prescription refill requests and call in prescriptions as needed.
  • Assist with telephone triage, returning calls and providing patient education as directed by providers.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and arranging referrals.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a medical setting preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
