Position Overview:

Role Responsibilities:
The selected adjunct faculty member will deliver instruction on various physics topics, encompassing the principles of mechanics (both translational and rotational), gravitational forces, impulse, momentum, work, energy, conservation laws, and fluid dynamics.
This position is appointed on a quarterly basis, with teaching primarily scheduled during weekdays. However, there may be occasional evening classes (e.g., 5:30-9:45 pm) and/or Saturday morning sessions based on student demand.
Course Format:
Classes may be conducted in an online format or in-person, depending on the preferences and needs of the students.
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a relevant master's or doctoral degree in the field, or an earned master's or doctoral degree complemented by at least 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline. Official, sealed transcripts from both undergraduate and graduate institutions will be required.
Expectations:
Instructors are expected to:
- Provide high-quality instruction in accordance with the approved academic curriculum.
- Adhere to South College standards for classroom management, technology utilization, grade submission, and record-keeping.
- Develop and implement effective teaching and evaluation strategies to engage students.
- Support student success through mentoring and tutoring initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience and a proven track record of excellence in postsecondary education are highly desirable.
