Overview of the Role
The Lead Integration Specialist will spearhead the execution of the Digital Transformation strategy. Reporting to the AVP of Data & Integrations, this position serves as the technical authority for various administrative, digital, and clinical applications associated with Digital Transformation initiatives. The role encompasses directing the design, implementation, and upkeep of these applications, which includes requirements gathering, process documentation, product testing, troubleshooting, upgrades, and report generation. The Lead Integration Specialist will collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders to establish the integration and maintenance strategies necessary to support high-value use cases.

Key Responsibilities

Perform necessary duties to back up and monitor application assets, ensuring service continuity for key digital solutions. Drive ongoing enhancements in application asset monitoring. Monitor and evaluate the production performance of various middleware and digital solutions to ensure optimal operations regarding response times and storage capacity. Assess new release features for relevance and recommend operational improvements. Manage vendor resources during the implementation of new software and application upgrades for Digital Transformation, ensuring contract compliance. Mentor internal and external associates in the creation and maintenance of user and application support documentation, ensuring updates are made in designated repositories. Design and conduct testing for software updates and routine maintenance of the Digital Transformation platform and middleware technology, validating system performance through controlled testing. Lead the implementation of enhancements and updates to Digital Transformation applications and services, managing project tasks including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation. Develop reports and guide associates in creating both ad hoc and standard reports to meet user needs, ensuring alignment with reporting definitions. Document existing business processes to facilitate redesign across various Digital Transformation use cases, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness. Plan and execute training courses on core system functionality to support user adoption of Digital Transformation solutions. Provide expert support to stakeholders in the operational use of software applications, facilitating resolution of user issues and serving as a liaison between technical and user groups. Oversee special projects within the Digital Transformation roadmap, mentoring associates in advanced project management principles. Manage the integration of applications within the corporate computing environment, mentoring associates in support processes. Oversee database management related to Digital Transformation, evaluating design and maintenance activities for performance improvements. Serve as a subject matter expert in current technology trends within the healthcare industry, providing guidance and solutions to meet project objectives. Train and evaluate department staff, maintaining ongoing communication to review programs and provide feedback.

Qualifications
Education

Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.

Experience

5-7 years of technical experience in a healthcare or business environment is required. 5-7 years of experience in application integrations, APIs, and software development is required.

Skills and Abilities

Proven experience in designing and supporting application integrations in a healthcare setting. Familiarity with configuring and supporting application software in a healthcare context. Experience leading projects of moderate to high complexity. Proficient in HL7/FHIR and related concepts. Strong analytical skills for solving complex technical challenges. Extensive knowledge of C# and/or Java. Experience with API building platforms like POSTMAN. Familiarity with source control products such as GitHub or Azure DevOps. Experience in cloud service architecture development. Knowledge of Cerner Millennium applications and integration within healthcare systems is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Experience with interface engines is advantageous.
