Position Overview:
Sensus, a brand under Xylem, is looking for a dedicated RF Field Engineer. This role is pivotal in managing the FSS process of RF assessments relevant to the designated service area. Key responsibilities encompass operational scheduling, customer engagement, subcontractor coordination, network rollout, optimization, and customer validation.

Key Responsibilities:
- The primary duty involves certifying RF equipment utilized in Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) networks.

The RF apparatus includes proprietary cellular-type base station hardware essential for reading and communicating with various endpoints including electric, gas, water, and lighting.

Utilization of Salesforce for customer relationship management (CRM) is required for scheduling, data management, operational verification, and documentation tracking.

- Provide comprehensive documentation, including written reports, screen captures, and photographs to various internal and external stakeholders.
- Supervise contractor installation teams responsible for RF equipment setup and offer constructive feedback on their work.

Challenges may include interference mitigation within the Sensus licensed spectrum, improper installations of RF network components, base station hardware issues, or power system failures.

Provide insights to the internal RF Design team, VARs, installation contractors, or any relevant entity requiring installation tracking and management.

May serve as a resource during pilot projects, testing phases, or proof of concept initiatives aimed at enhancing market presence within the AMI sector.

In scenarios involving Network as a Service (NaaS), the RF Field Engineer will ensure adherence to the response times outlined in the contract.

- Develop topics for and lead regular meetings within Sensus to align projected versus actual field performance metrics.
- Interactions and workload will primarily be directed by Project and/or Program Managers within the operational area.
- Training and support will be provided by the Senior RF Field Engineer and/or the regional RF Field Engineer.
- Engage in Xylem Watermark volunteer initiatives.

Job Requirements:

- Proficiency in all MS Suite applications and general computer skills is necessary.
- Familiarity with RF field testing equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers, Wattmeters, loads, and attenuators is expected.

Understanding of antennas, cable types, and their applications, as well as knowledge of dB values, backhaul systems including fiber, modems, routers, and SIM card configurations.

- Experience with Unix, Linux, Oracle, and MSSQL is advantageous.
- Knowledge of programmable DC power systems and associated battery systems is beneficial.
- Reliable transportation for regional travel, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record are required.
- This role necessitates extensive travel, potentially up to 80%.
- Availability for on-call duties is essential.

Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with BICSI, ANSI, and TIA Standards.
- Experience in RF Infrastructure installation.
- Proficiency in Linux.
- Experience with mapping software.
- Background in propagation analysis.

Physical Demands:
