Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician I or II to join our team at Catholic Health Initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning, inspecting, processing, assembling, and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for cleaning, inspecting, processing, assembling, and sterilizing all instruments and equipment following policy, industry standards, and manufacturer instructions.
  • Practices universal precautions and follows OSHA requirements at all times.
  • Assists with daily/weekly testing and logging of all mechanical equipment, including mechanical washers, sonic, and sterilizers.
  • Maintains accurate and legible documentation.
  • Assists with the routine maintenance of instrumentation by identifying items needing repair.
  • Follows procedure for set assembly utilizing instrument checklists and/or instrument tracking where available.
  • Completes case cart assembly by adding needed instrumentation to the case cart.
  • Assists with OR room turnover.
  • Cleans and HLD of GI scopes, bronchoscopes, and TEE probes.
  • Uses supplies efficiently, correctly, and according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Participates in department activities, including orientation, system education, quality, daily briefing, and supply needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the field and certification by CBSPD or IAHCSMM preferred.

Pay Range

$20.33/hour
