Responsibilities

As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, you will work in one of the world's largest data warehouse environments in the automotive finance industry, supporting originations functions. You will help build, manage, and maintain one of the largest cross-functional databases at GM Financial, as well as work on Business Intelligence reporting and dashboarding solutions used by thousands of users in North America.

You will have deep expertise in the design, creation, management, and business use of large datasets. You will work with business owners to develop and define key business questions and build data sets that answer those questions. You will also design, implement, and operate stable, scalable, low-cost solutions to flow data from various systems and sources into targets such as the data warehouse, other data repositories/solutions, and into end-user facing applications.

You will engage with leadership in the originations organization and diversified functional groups to understand the needs and recommend business intelligence and reporting solutions. You will own the design, implementation, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive key business decisions.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with relevant experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics. You should have hands-on experience in writing complex, highly-optimized queries across large data sets, as well as experience in scripting languages like Python, Unix, Java, etc.

You should also have demonstrated strength in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing, as well as experience with data integration tools such as Informatica or Azure Data Factory, etc. You should be able to effectively interact with internal and external customers, manage assigned tasks and responsibilities with little to no supervision in a fast-paced environment, and have advanced analytical skills.
