We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Coach to join our Softball team at Santa Clara University. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of running a Division I Softball program, including game preparation, teaching and coaching, practices and player conditioning, recruitment and retention of student-athletes, program administration, academic integrity, and donor/alumni public relations and youth programs.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the creation and implementation of effective match, practice, and conditioning plans for student-athletes.
- Work with the Head Coach to develop effective drills and strategies for player improvement.
- Provide pitching development and instruction on an individual and team basis.
- Utilize pitching technology to develop individual pitchers' spin rate and movement.
- Throw live arm batting practice.
- Track and manage all collected data throughout the season.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the sport of softball.
- Demonstrated success at the collegiate or professional level.
- Strong, positive communication skills as a coach and as a member of the Department of Athletics.
- Ability to interact positively with students and fellow coaches.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of three years of demonstrated success in an assistant coach or player at the Division I level required.
