About the Position:

American Institutes for Research is seeking a highly motivated Researcher Intern to support our Workforce Development program area. As a Researcher Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, conduct systematic literature reviews, and assist staff in the review and development of scholarly information.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct systematic literature reviews to support research activities
  • Assist staff in the review, identification, and development of scholarly information describing research findings
  • Participate in the collection, analysis, and review of research and evaluation data
  • Develop spreadsheets and databases to support project activities
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative research data and contribute to the reporting and interpretation of findings
  • Support communication, dissemination, and outreach activities as needed

Qualifications:

  • Must be a current student for the duration of the internship and enrolled in a Doctoral degree program in fields such as economics, psychology, sociology, statistics, computer science, public policy, public health, or other social science-related fields
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of data collection and analysis methodologies and techniques, such as survey design, analysis of program administrative data, and conduct of structured interviews, observations, and focus groups
  • Experience using statistical software programs such as R, SPSS, or Stata to clean and analyze large data sets is required
  • Knowledge and skills with multivariate statistical analyses are required
