Summer Camp Nurse

Job Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team at our summer camp in Minerva, NY. As a Summer Camp RN, you will play a vital role in ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of our campers and staff members throughout the summer.

Responsibilities:

• Provide first aid and medical care to campers and staff as needed.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all campers and staff.
• Dispense medications to campers in accordance with prescribed instructions and camp policies.
• Collaborate with the camp director and healthcare team to implement health and safety protocols.
• Monitor and manage the camp's infirmary, ensuring it is clean and well-equipped.
• Assess and address any health-related concerns or emergencies promptly and professionally.
• Communicate effectively with campers, parents/guardians, and staff regarding health matters.
• Assist in organizing and implementing health-related programs and educational initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant state and local health regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid RN license in the state of New York.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Previous experience in a camp or school health setting is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• A passion for working with children and adolescents.
• Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with others.
• Flexibility and adaptability to a camp setting and its unique challenges.

Additional Information:

• This is a seasonal position for the duration of the camp season.
• Compensation for this position ranges from $7,500.00 to $12,000.00, depending on qualifications and experience.
• The camp has its own health clinic, staffed 24 hours a day by registered nurses and a doctor.
