Secure Space Programs Leader

Cyber systems engineers with experience in space technology development are needed to lead secure space programs.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in cyber systems engineering and integration, with the ability to drive fielding of complex computer and/or communication network systems.

This position is based in Schriever SFB, CO, and requires an active / valid DoD Secret or TS/SCI-eligible clearance. The salary for this role is estimated at $145,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

Duties:

  • Provide technical leadership across a diverse team of in-house engineering staff to drive the fielding of Space Systems while supporting architecture analysis, design and development risk reduction and interoperability testing.
  • Define and execute a Cyber technical strategy aligned with the Enterprise architectural vision, near term goals and long-term acquisition strategy for all Payloads.
  • Lead Cyber architecture and Cyber trade assessments, Cyber requirement decomposition analysis, Cyber CONOPS and Cyber interface validation.
  • Cyber Capability Area Integrator teams to align technical investments and transition plans with Cyber operational needs.
  • Plan, organize, tailor, and lead Cyber mission assurance activities to appropriately balance risk tolerance and speed associated with space system payloads.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant Engineering, Math or Science subject area.
  • At least 12 years of progressively more responsible related experience in engineering, computer science, network management, cyber security, or technology development.
  • Track record of leading integrated Cyber teams and ability to interface effectively with senior management from the Government customer and development Teams.
  • Strong background in Cyber Systems Engineering and Integration with demonstrated success in fielding highly complex computer and/or communication network systems.
  • Cyber Technical experience in the following networking & communication systems areas: system requirement definition, research and development, network architecture, network management, cyber, cryptology, communication waveforms, radio and/or optical space communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to succinctly describe complex technical issues to engineering staff and senior leadership.
  • Active / Valid DoD Secret or TS/SCI-eligible clearance (i.e. DCID 6/4 eligibility); applicant must maintain clearance in active/valid status.
  • Clearance investigation close date must be no older than 5 years, 6 months at the time of application.
  • Must be willing to submit to, and be able to pass, a CI polygraph for the TS/SCI role.
  • Active / valid DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II certification (Security +); applicant must maintain currency of same.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in space systems, space technology development, DoD acquisition processes and/or activities related to Resiliency Payload Systems Engineering.
  • Previous line or team management experience and/or program office experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high-pressure environment with rapidly changing priorities and a demanding customer.
  • Solid understanding of the networking and cybersecurity principles from the Open Network Foundation and/or NIST and DoD instructions.
  • Experience with model-based system engineering (MBSE) tools, data ontologies/standards and model development.
