Employment Opportunity:

Saint Francis Hospital is seeking a skilled Audiologist to join our dedicated Rehab Team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting diagnostic hearing evaluations for patients of all ages, determining their peripheral/central auditory status, and establishing appropriate recommendations for intervention. They will also perform videonystagmography testing for adults, manage the newborn hearing screening program, and ensure proper training for nurses and technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive audiological testing, including visual reinforced audiometry, conditioned play audiometry, Otoacoustic Emissions testing, Immittance testing, extended high frequency testing for ototoxic monitoring, and vestibular testing.
  • Determine appropriate medical, habilitative/rehabilitative, and educational needs, and refer for associated follow-up to address those needs.
  • Effectively adapt testing procedures and environment for pediatric evaluations or difficult-to-test patients.
  • Maintain appropriate communication with treatment team, physicians, clients, and/or family members to facilitate problem solving, program planning, and education.
  • Manage the newborn hearing screening program and ensure proper training for nurses and technicians.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Audiology
  • Current State of CT license
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence-Audiology, awarded by the American Speech/Language/Hearing Association
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
