Job Title: Business Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Director to lead and develop the growth strategy for a business unit segment of the Andersen Division Windows & Doors. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating Andersen's business strategy into a product strategy, developing a vision, and strategic and annual operating plans for their business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the business unit's strategic plan to achieve its goals and objectives, including product lifecycle management.
  • Share financial principles, budgeting, and financial reporting with the team.
  • Oversee the budget, financial performance, and profitability of the business unit/team(s), including safety, quality, service, cost, sales, and gross profit.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the management team and staff within the business unit.
  • Ensure efficient and effective day-to-day operations, including process improvements, resource allocation, operations/logistics, CERT, and marketing.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities and partnerships.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities and threats and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of competitors and provide product marketing with insights on key competitive differentiators and messages.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
  • Set business unit/team(s) performance metrics, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Drive initiatives to expand market presence and increase revenue.
  • Ensure the business unit complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, and manage risks.
  • Drive innovation and growth initiatives to expand the business unit's market presence and competitive edge in partnership with Research & Development.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on the business unit's performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic planning skills to set and achieve long-term business goals.
  • Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Industry Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of the industry in which the business unit operates and adjacencies, including market trends and competitive landscape.
  • Operational Expertise: Experience in managing day-to-day operations, optimizing processes, and improving efficiency.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas and influence stakeholders and engage with customers.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex business challenges.
  • Customer Focus: Commitment to understanding and meeting the needs of customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Change Management: Ability to manage and drive change within the organization, adapting to evolving business environments.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related field; an MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience with demonstrated growth and/or advancement in complexity, difficulty, or level of responsibility. Previous general management, product management, or other product-related experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing leaders of leaders.
  • Travel requirement 25-35%.
