Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning the respiratory portion of the resident's discharge plan as necessary.
- Interpret the respiratory department's policies and procedures to personnel, residents, visitors, and government agencies as required.
- Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of residents with airway needs as required.
- Provide Oxygen Therapy; tank, tent, mask, cannula, walker, high flow, etc. respiratory care.
- Coughing and deep breathing instruction and exercises and related maneuvers including, Incentive Spirometry.
- Aerosol Therapy; Bland and Medicated, Metered dose, Ambient, Ultrasonic, Sputum Induction.
- Chest therapy.
- IPPB, CPAP, and BiPAP Therapy
- Airway maintenance as to oral, nasal, and tracheal suctioning.
- ABG interpretation and analysis.
- Consult with the physician and follow protocols for ventilator management including weaning, decannulation, and terminal weaning.
- Arterial puncture to obtain ABGs if required and after proper certification.
Requirements:
- Must Have an active and valid Respiratory Therapist License.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
