We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Compass Group, North America. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking high-quality meals for our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Cooking and Food Preparation: Prepare and cook food following approved recipes and production standards, ensuring all deadlines are met based on production orders.
- Supervision and Leadership: Supervise hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and recommending disciplinary action as needed.
- Food Safety and Sanitation: Store food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures, ensuring proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils, cleaning workstations thoroughly before leaving the area.
- Customer Service: Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner, relaying relevant information directly to the supervisor.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies, tracking product production, consumption, and waste, and informing the supervisor when supplies or product are low.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous food preparation, cooking, and event experience.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
