Job Summary

Maine Medical Center is seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Specialist to join our team. As a member of our medical respiratory unit, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the development of a healing environment.

About the Role

This is a dynamic position that requires strong clinical skills, effective communication, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. You will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate the effects of nursing care.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' conditions and develop individualized care plans
  • Provide evidence-based interventions to promote patient recovery and well-being
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and achieve optimal outcomes
  • Document patient information accurately and timely
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent experience
  • A current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Maine
  • At least 1 year prior RN work experience, preferably in a medical respiratory setting
  • Strong knowledge of research-based practices, principles, and processes of professional nursing
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
