Job Summary

The Housekeeper is a key member of our facilities team, responsible for maintaining the common areas of our residential buildings. This includes sweeping, mopping, washing, dusting, and vacuuming, as well as sealing, waxing, and buffing floors and hard surfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Sweep, mop, wash, dust, and vacuum common areas, including offices, multi-purpose rooms, roof deck, garden, trash collection area, lobby, fitness room, and sidewalks
  • Clean individual units when vacated or requested by work order
  • Sort and package recyclables to comply with NYC regulations
  • Operate compactor
  • Set up and clean up for meetings and other events
  • Assist painters and engineers when assigned
  • Perform work at other facilities as required
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Comparable work experience
  • Experience operating a vacuum cleaner and high-speed buffer
  • Ability to lift and move furniture, appliances, etc.
  • High School Diploma, GED, Trade School Diploma, or equivalent
  • Ability to stand for several hours during shift and to climb stairs in the event of an emergency
  • Experience working with special needs populations a plus
  • Basic knowledge of using a computer a plus
