Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled System Administrator to support and manage the life cycle of all company business systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in server administration, network management, and database design.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of server systems, personal computers, wireless networking, server racks, and other related equipment, devices, and systems.
Troubleshoot systems and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.
Research, recommend, and design infrastructure for servers and associated systems.
Implement policies, administer firewall, apply public key encryption to network applications, manage host security, and file permissions.
Participate in the evaluation and make recommendations regarding the purchase of computers, server hardware, peripheral equipment, and software.
Work as a hands-on team member and supervisor with other technical staff, such as Helpdesk, security, development, and reporting support technicians to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems.
Act as the liaison between the System Administration team and all internal and external customers.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, methodologies, and expectations of work for System Administration and Helpdesk Teams.
Perform additional related tasks and projects as required and assigned.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively with a team.
Ability to communicate objectives and manage to completion of objectives.
Ability to document processes, design patterns, and procedures for the SA team.
Excellent analytical skills.
Perform regular backups and ensure data integrity and availability.
Develop and implement database strategies, including database design, capacity planning, and disaster recovery.
Optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
Troubleshoot database-related issues and implement solutions.
Perform database upgrades and migrations as necessary.
Create and maintain documentation related to system and database configuration, procedures, and best practices.
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Steadfast commitment to exceptional customer service.

Preferred Experience:

Experience with two or more of the following: servers, storage, network, data center management, helpdesk, VMware.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree with 2+ years' experience, or 5+ years' experience related specifically to System/Network Administration.
