We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor of Anatomic Pathology to join our team at Novant Health. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our anatomic pathology department, ensuring the highest level of quality and accuracy in our testing and reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and maintain accurate and compliant policies, procedures, and protocols for anatomic pathology testing.
- Supervise and manage the clinical and administrative staff in the anatomic pathology department, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Conduct timely reviews of quality control and process management to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
- Develop and implement effective inventory management systems to ensure adequate supplies and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with managers and other stakeholders to evaluate new instruments and equipment, and implement changes as needed.
- Act as a resource for patient caregivers, laboratory management, medical directors, and laboratory staff, providing expert guidance and support.
- Serve as Technical Supervisor in the absence of management, ensuring continuity of operations and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Bachelor's degree in Cytology, Histology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- Five years of relevant laboratory experience, with a minimum of two years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Technologist/Scientist/Specialist Certification from ASCP or AMT.
- Knowledge of current medical terminology, laboratory equipment, and testing procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to read and understand information about instrumentation in the laboratory field.
- Ability to follow written protocols and work independently.
- Specialist certifications from accreditation agencies.
