The Assistant Manager will be responsible for assisting in the oversight of gym operations to ensure an exceptional member experience as well as a financially successful club.

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Management: Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing a high-performing staff consisting of Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.
  • Customer Service: Assist in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members, and guests, and ensuring staff follows superior customer service guidelines.
  • Operations Support: Assist with staff management and provide backup support to the Club Manager as needed, including scheduling and supervising staff.
  • Member Service Oversight: Ensure staff is providing a superior customer experience at all times.
  • Issue Resolution: Assist in resolving or escalating employee issues or concerns.
  • Front Desk Activities: Involved in all front desk-related activities, including answering phones, checking members into the system, new member sign-up, taking prospective members on tours, and facilitating all member requests, issues, and questions.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Assist in overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
  • Supply Management: Assist in ordering supplies using specific budgets based on club requirements.
  • Reporting and Statistics: Assist in tracking statistics and reports (weekly, monthly, and annually).
  • Backup Support: Provide backup support for any employee who is absent.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Customer Service Skills: Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
  • Experience: Experience working as a Member Service Representative at Planet Fitness.
  • Supervisory Skills: Solid supervisory, diplomacy, and listening skills.
  • Computer Proficiency: Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite).
  • Personal Qualities: Hard working, enthusiastic, and energetic.
  • Problem Resolution Skills: Strong problem resolution skills.
  • Certifications: Current CPR Certification required.
  • Education: High school diploma/GED equivalent required.
