Job Title: Field Service Technician

At Morris Group, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of machine tool equipment, controls, and other components purchased by our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all machine tool equipment and controls.
  • Identify areas for performance improvement on equipment and perform preventative maintenance on customer machine tool equipment.
  • Detect and resolve issues with electrical and mechanical components.
  • Utilize machine tool manuals, technical documents, and internal and vendor resources to research machine issues.
  • Effectively communicate machine issues, status of install or status of machine repair to customers and ensure proper documentation is completed and submitted.
  • Develop and maintain partner relationships with our machine tool vendors and other third-party vendors.
  • Exhibit ownership of customer-related problems and coordinate with appropriate departments when necessary for resolution of problems.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes and ensure they are communicated and implemented within the team.
  • Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments in the field.
  • Maintain an in-depth technical knowledge of product lines represented by the company.
  • Stay abreast of vendor products and new technology and implement as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in a related field is preferred; High School Diploma/GED from a technical school is required.
  • Minimum of one year of applicable experience is required.
  • One to three years of experience working with CNC controls is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics is required.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail with technical aptitude are required.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and schematics is required.
  • Strong understanding of customer requirements is required.
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in software associated with Microsoft programs and other related business programs are required.
  • Ability to work unscheduled overtime without notice is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the workweek; some overnight travel is required.
