Key Responsibilities:- Apply paint and other coatings manually and with spray applicators.
- Spray multiple types of finishes, paints, and coatings to various materials.
- Sand and smooth the item in preparation for finishing.
- Understand specifications of the project and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, and following written instructions.
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
- Work with glues and bonding materials.
- Cut and assemble materials to specifications.
- Use power tools and hand tools to cut and prepare materials for assembly.
- Follow all safety standards and procedures.
- Keep shop and work area clean and organized.
- Work with a sense of urgency to meet short deadlines without compromising quality.
- Experience in commercial, residential, or auto body repair and finish work preferred but not required.
- Experience with PPG or Matthews paint mixing systems strongly considered.
- Familiarity with a variety of paint finish techniques on diverse substrates.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
- Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming.
- Mechanical aptitude and good math skills.
- A keen eye for color detail and results-driven approach.
- Outstanding written, email, and oral communication.
- Able to lift up to 50-70 pounds unassisted.
- Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time.
- Feeling. Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
- Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
- Subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
- Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
