Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at the University of California, San Francisco. As a key member of our Sterile Processing Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care by processing and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Decontaminate and sterilize medical instruments and equipment using various methods, including autoclaving and chemical sterilization.
  • Inspect and assemble medical instruments and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and sterilizers.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of sterilization and decontamination processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of sterilized instruments and equipment.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician.
  • Current certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and sterilization procedures.
