Job Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Special Education Teacher to join our team at Rocky Mountain Prep. As a key member of our academic support team, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic growth and development of our students with special needs.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality education to students with diverse learning requirements. You will work collaboratively with our general education teachers, school leaders, service providers, and families to ensure that instruction meets the needs of each learner.

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $62,000 to $96,800, depending on experience and level of education, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, retirement through PERA, and paid-time-off.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and teach daily student interventions, providing individualized instruction based on scholar needs in multiple content areas.
  • Analyze scholar data and use it to provide scholar feedback and set IEP goals.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, school leaders, service providers, and families to ensure that instruction meets the needs of each learner.
  • Case manage the IEPs of scholars on the caseload, including FBAs, BIPs, and scheduling IEP meetings.
  • Create and implement IEPs and evaluations that meet CDE quality standards for Special education.
  • Consistently track and progress monitor IEP goals.
  • Support accommodations and modifications implementation across the educational environment.
  • Utilize strong time management and organizational skills to support a variety of student levels and needs.
  • Demonstrate ability to write quality IEPs, including a summary of student performance, goals, and benchmarks based on assessments and needs.
  • Coach 1-1 Teaching Assistants if there are scholars on the caseload that require 1-1 support.
  • Manage and lead a team of Teaching Assistants in providing one-on-one instructional and behavioral support to center-based scholars, including teaching social and adaptive skills, providing small group or one-on-one academic instruction, and pushing in and supporting scholars in a general education setting, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's and/or master's degree (any subject).
  • Current Colorado teaching license with a special education generalist (5-21) and/or special education specialist (5-21) endorsement(s).
  • Pass a background check.
  • Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States.
