Job Summary

The Physical Therapy Assistant plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team at Covenant Health (Tennessee).

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with patients, healthcare providers, and other care team members to deliver physical therapy services that promote patient independence and functional abilities.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures under the supervision of a licensed therapist, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, incorporating patient feedback and input, to achieve functional goals and improve patient outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of new programs and services within the Physical Therapy department.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and outcomes, adhering to departmental procedures and standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to enhance patient care and departmental operations.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assistant studies or related field.
  • Current Physical Therapy Assistant License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks, and making sound decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
Working Conditions

The Physical Therapy Assistant will work in a dynamic healthcare environment, exposed to blood/body fluids or tissue, and must be able to perform tasks that involve sitting, standing, twisting, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds, is required. The ability to speak, read, write, and understand written instructions in English is essential.
