About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Audio Visual Facility Technician to join our team at Houston Community College (HCC). As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of events and productions across our campus facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with setting up and running audio visual productions for campus facilities, including meetings, conferences, and scheduled events.
  • Monitor each event and oversee quality control of audio visual equipment.
  • Assess the needs of internal and external customers and assist in preparing the proper technical audio visual setup for all college facilities.
  • Maintain the calendar schedule, facilitate general aspects of audio visual equipment, and ensure that all safety procedures and guidelines are followed during all events held on campus.
  • Serve as backup for all events booked on campus, taking full responsibility for the operation of all equipment.
  • Assist with event setup, breakdown, and general maintenance for all events.
  • Work with the Event Management System software applications to ensure efficient setup for all events.
  • Ensure all service items and equipment are maintained.
  • Provide daily facility maintenance.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Audio visual related certificate or degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one year experience in event operations or conference center operations with audio visual setup required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet technologies.
  • Proven ability to use event management system software.
  • Excellent work ethic and ability to lift 50 pounds.
