Job Description:

This position is responsible for delivering engineering services, from conceptual design to construction completion, for HVAC, Plumbing, and other contract services offered by ACCO Engineered Systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with engineering design project planning, including conceptual design through construction drawing development.
  • Complete code-required energy compliance and LEED documentation.
  • Conduct engineering calculations, energy analysis, economic analysis, selection and layout of equipment, and duct & piping system design for HVAC, Plumbing, and other building systems.
  • Understand applications engineering, including psychrometrics, refrigeration, acoustics, and controls systems.
  • Assist with coordination of design and installation with Project Management, Construction and Service departments, Controls, and other trade partners.
  • Field engineering: assist with project execution, site surveys, trade coordination, scheduling, document management, and problem-solving.
  • Computer 2D and 3D modeling of HVAC or plumbing systems utilizing the latest modeling software.
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with colleagues and project team members.
  • Manage time to meet project schedules and task deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.
Requirements:
  • BS in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Prior intern experience with mechanical contractor and/or engineering consultant preferred, but not required.
  • EIT Certificate highly desirable, but not required.
  • Excellent understanding of Engineering fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit, or similar drafting software preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

  • The auditory/hearing abilities required by the job include the ability to hear customers calling by telephone.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods, stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee is regularly required to walk and sit.
  • This individual must be a responsible person and regular attendance is required.
Hours:

This is a non-exempt position from Monday through Friday. In general, work hours begin and end between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm and are determined by the department head.

Competitive Wages: $34.13 to $43.15 per hour or Annual Salary. Applicants please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others. The offered wage or salary is only one aspect of an employee's total compensation.
