About the Role

L3Harris is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team. As an EHS Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting site objectives and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to establish policies and directions to achieve EHS program targets and objectives.
  • Investigate occupational injuries and illnesses, and fulfill OSHA recordkeeping requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor EHS programs and policies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure EHS and regulatory requirements are met during facility expansion and renovation.
  • Maintain current chemical inventory and approve new chemicals prior to arrival onsite.
  • Lead formal monthly EHS compliance audits and track results to effective closure.
  • Oversee management of required EHS documentation and ensure records are properly identified, maintained, and available as needed.
  • Develop and provide EHS trainings, communications, and briefings to fulfill applicable regulatory requirements and foster a culture of safety.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience, or Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • 2 or more years of experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
  • 2 or more years of experience working in the Environmental Health & Safety function within an organization.
  • Must be a United States Citizen.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience interpreting and applying DoD regulations.
  • Experience using and leveraging EHS tools and systems, such as Gensuite.
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analysis skills.
