Overview:

In a supportive environment, the MRI Specialist conducts diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging examinations utilizing the appropriate technology and methodologies. The role emphasizes the principles of Patient and Family Centered Care consistently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Confirms patient identity and physician directives.
  • Educates patients and their families about the procedures.
  • Gathers and records comprehensive patient medical histories.
  • Safely operates MRI imaging machinery.
  • Administers IVs for contrast media when necessary.
  • Executes procedures in accordance with established MRI protocols.
  • Observes patients throughout the imaging process.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of the imaging area and equipment.
  • Utilizes hospital information systems for order verification and data transmission.
  • Conducts quality assurance on MRI scans post-verification of patient identity and physician orders.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a JRCERT Accredited Radiography program.
  • Preferred 1-3 years of relevant clinical experience.
  • ARRT Registration (MR) or completion of an Accredited Radiology program is mandatory.
  • Basic Life Support Certification is required.
