Role Overview

We are seeking a talented and motivated Certification Engineer to join our Airworthiness and Certification team at ZeroAvia. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in certifying our electric propulsion systems for hydrogen-electric aircraft.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide subject matter expert guidance to the design team on certification aspects
  • Develop the certification basis for new and novel technologies
  • Lead the creation of Certification Demonstration Documentation in accordance with DOA Procedures
  • Assist with the creation of Flight Conditions and Permit to Fly / Experimental Flight Permit documentation
  • Interface with internal and external organizations as required
  • Take an active role in regulator liaison
  • Act as Compliance Verification Engineer (where independent)
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of practical experience working in a FAA/EASA Part 21J or Military Design Organisation environment or FAA certification organisation
  • Master's Degree in Engineering, B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong working knowledge of Part 23/25J aircraft
  • Specialist knowledge of Mechanical Systems
  • Experience in compliance analysis and certification documentation drafting
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range: $135,000 - $150,000

  • Up to 60% of your earnings for up to a period of 180 days
  • Eligible employees may accrue up to 120 hours per year (15 days) and may borrow up to 40 hours (5 days)
  • Eligible employees may accrue up to 40 hours, per year (5 days)
  • 12 observed holidays, per calendar year
  • Up to $2,000 of reimbursement towards flying lessons to all full-time staff
