Job Summary

Hexion is seeking a skilled Chemical Process Operator to join our team at our Geismar facility. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our formaldehyde production process.

Key Responsibilities

  • EH&S: Identify and eliminate hazards in the workplace, ensure safety standards are met, participate in safety training and audits, and maintain a clean and safe working area.
  • Quality: Ensure lab safety practices are adhered to, perform analytical testing of in-process samples and finished products, and support troubleshooting of lab equipment.
  • Production: Operate the process to produce solutions in-specification, report deviations from the production schedule, and perform root cause analyses to minimize future lost time.
  • Operations: Load and unload raw materials and finished product, perform SAP transactions, and troubleshoot issues with equipment to assist with maintenance operations.

Requirements

  • 2 years' experience in an industrial environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to perform mathematical operations quickly and accurately
  • Troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to use a computer effectively with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, manufacturer's literature, diagrams or schematics
  • Safety focus in prior jobs
