KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Revenue Recognition Support: Manage data entry, sales tracking, and oversee automated amortization processes, including bi-monthly and monthly journal entries.
- Contract Analysis: Review and interpret member contracts, pinpointing key revenue recognition implications to ensure precise revenue transaction recording.
- Month-End Closing: Engage in the month-end closing activities, preparing journal entries, conducting bank reconciliations, and performing account reconciliations and variance analyses.
- Analytical Contributions: Demonstrate a detail-oriented and innovative approach to discovering new best practices and efficiencies for the team.
- Process Enhancement: Identify and implement opportunities for improving revenue recognition processes.
- Risk Management Assistance: Support accounting and administration related to risk management.
- Strategic Development: Cultivate strategies and skills to comprehend business needs and requirements effectively.
- Audit Coordination: Act as a liaison for revenue-related audit inquiries, ensuring timely provision of documentation and resolution of audit findings.
- Support for Revenue Director: Assist the Director of Revenue with ASC 606 revenue recognition as required.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience, particularly in month-end closing.
- Familiarity with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems, including Oracle NetSuite and Salesforce, is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
- A positive mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and a focus on process enhancements are crucial.
- Commitment to meeting deadlines and fulfilling obligations is expected.
- Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and goal orientation are necessary traits.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to lead with empathy are important.
