Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Catholic Guardian Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the CGS Child/Adolescent Outpatient Mental Health Clinic. As a key member of our interdisciplinary treatment team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals and families in need.

Job Summary:

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating consumers in the ambulatory clinic setting. This includes evaluating consumer responses to care, providing psychoeducation, and collaborating with the clinic team to achieve treatment goals. Additional duties include performing comprehensive physical assessments, reviewing medications, and providing clinically proficient health screens.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive physical assessments and document biophysical and psychosocial status.
  • Review and manage consumer medications, including injectable prescriptions.
  • Provide psychotherapeutic methods and medications, discuss progress, and monitor medication effects.
  • Coordinate and monitor consumer health care needs.
  • Identify immediate or emergency treatment needs and ongoing medical requirements.
  • Prepare evaluative reports, treatment plans, and other required documentation.
  • Participate in staff conferences and meetings.
  • Provide on-site crisis assessment and management.
  • Maintain interdisciplinary treatment by reviewing and approving treatment plans.
  • Assure quality and safe service by enforcing policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Masters in Nursing (MSN)
  • Licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the State of New York; certified in psychiatric nursing
  • Knowledge of the Child Welfare System is desirable
  • Two years professional experience with emphasis on diagnostics and a team approach preferred
  • Ability to work some evening and weekend hours, including on-call consultation
  • Outstanding writing and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Spanish preferred
