Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse has the primary responsibility for the total care, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of each assigned patient. This includes planning, providing, and documenting care and teaching rendered. The nurse assures a plan of care is carried out in a safe environment through performance and supervision of subordinate personnel. The nurse meets departmental nursing care standards through appropriate cost containment and utilization/quality mechanisms. The nurse manages all supplies and equipment as instructed by the manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
- Supervise and direct subordinate personnel to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Meet departmental nursing care standards through cost containment and utilization/quality mechanisms.
- Manage supplies and equipment according to manufacturer instructions.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a Professional Nursing School.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- One-year experience as a professional RN in a medical setting preferred.
- The ability to read and write English.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- The ability to comprehend and follow verbal or written instructions in English.
- Other languages a plus.
- Demonstrated ability in basic nursing practice.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice in the State of Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
- EKG Telemetry (within 6 months).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Preferred Licenses/Certifications:
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Reports to: Unit Manager
