About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Designer to join our Search & Design System team at Apex Systems. As a Product Designer, you will play a critical role in shaping the user experience of our search engine, working closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design user interfaces for web, software, and/or hardware products.
  • Write functionality design specifications.
  • Design and implement prototypes, mock-ups, task analysis, usability studies, personas, user flows, wireframes, style guides, navigational structures, and affinity diagrams.
  • Generate design ideas; present and sell designs to product group.
  • Understand customer needs and motivations and integrate them into product design to contribute to user features and functionality.
  • Act as consultant to other team leads and may manage external production and design resources.
  • Attend team meetings from creating initial concepts, through to project completion, and reviewing of work.

Requirements

  • 5+ years work-related experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of user interface and functionality design required.
  • Strong creative skills and ability to generate design ideas required.
  • Experience creating and implementing usability studies, personas, user flows, wireframes, style guides, navigational structures, and affinity diagrams is required.
  • Strong knowledge of web technologies (i.e. HTML and CSS).
  • Proficiency in current and emerging web technologies and standard design software packages (i.e. Figma)
  • Strong knowledge or experience with database-served websites. Experience working with rich client or web applications is a plus.
  • Must have the ability to understand and integrate customer needs and motivations into specific areas of product design to contribute to user features and functionality. Must be familiar with industry standards and trends.
  • Strong communication skills as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team required.
  • Must have ability to own and drive projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
