Your work will involve electrical and mechanical fabrication, assembly, troubleshooting, and testing, supporting both new hardware initiatives and ongoing engineering efforts.
Eligibility Requirements: U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency and the capability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance are mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical engineering assistance and execute tasks as outlined in work authorizing documents.
- Engage in activities related to laptops, printers, audio-visual equipment, and electrical, electronic, or mechanical components.
- Conduct cable and electronic component fabrication adhering to NASA recognized workmanship standards (soldering, harness and cable assembly, staking/conformal coating, etc.).
- Support multiple projects, manage priorities, and achieve objectives in a dynamic environment with stringent deadlines.
- Prepare cables with non-flammable materials for flight processing.
- Maintain general lab cleanliness and upkeep.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent, along with 3 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in interpreting and implementing requirements from engineering drawings and work orders.
- General knowledge of mathematics and computer science principles.
- Familiarity with the engineering drawing process.
- Understanding of tool calibration procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in cable and electronic component fabrication utilizing NASA recognized workmanship standards (NASA 8739.1, NASA 8739.4, IPC-J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620).
- Proficiency in PWB population using various soldering techniques (through-hole and surface mount).
- Skills in electronics troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of fiber optics.
- Working knowledge of Maximo Inventory Management System or similar systems.
