Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our team at JPMorgan Chase. As a key member of our Offers and Shopping Product, you will play a critical role in enhancing, building, and delivering trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives. You will execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop secure high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
  • Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
  • Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Requirements:

  • Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Demonstrable ability to code in one or more languages; Java/Scala
  • Experience in AWS EMR, Glue, Lambda, KMS, S3, EMR, Athena, Redshift, Opensearch
  • Experience or knowledge in Spark leveraging Python, Java, or Scala, Terraform
  • Knowledge in Snowflake Database Architecture
  • Experience working on NoSQL Databases such as Cassandra, HBase, DynamoDB, and Elastic Search
  • Experience with Streaming frameworks
  • Delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Control M/Airflow
  • Experience in financial domain is preferred
  • Experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Experience working in Multi-Cloud environments is preferred
