Job Summary:
The Supervisor of Special Inspections is a Licensed Civil Engineer (PE) who serves as the project engineer in-responsible-charge of CME's contracted special inspections and structural tests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Project Special Inspections Program, including initial set-up and technical review of test/inspection reports
- Act as a consultant on construction-related problems, failures, or issues, and perform on-site inspections and report results
- Coordinate with Registered Design Professionals and Code Enforcement Officials, and serve as Owner's Agent in execution of the Special Inspections Program
- Manage non-conformance lists, prepare project test & inspection plans, and assist in the prevention of construction material failures and workmanship problems
- Provide technical supervision, technical evaluations, and mentorship of engineering technologists and inspectors
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or current Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with goal of earning PE
- Experience with building codes and standards governing special inspections and structural tests
- A friendly, forthright, diplomatic, and communicative business demeanor
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with established policies and regulations
