Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Instructor to join our team at Community Residences. As a Residential Instructor, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to promote independence, socialization, and skill-building for clients.
  • Provide direct care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities, medication administration, and behavioral interventions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.
  • Monitor and report changes in client behavior, medical conditions, or other relevant information to supervisors and healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as behavioral support, crisis intervention, and medication administration.
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful team environment, promoting open communication and collaboration with colleagues.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in human services, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Valid CT driver's license and good driving record required.
  • Ability to lift and transfer 70-75 pounds, with frequent standing, walking, and bending.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
Work Schedule

Friday and Monday: 7am-8:30am at Sentinel Hill, 8:30am-3pm at Valley day program. Saturday and Sunday: 7am-3pm at Sentinel Hill.
