About the Role

VCA Animal Hospitals is seeking a skilled Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team in a relief capacity. As a relief veterinary technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our dedicated team of veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care and comfort.
  • Perform venipuncture and IVC placement, administer SQ fluids and medications, and work collaboratively with technical staff to ensure hospitalized patients receive the best possible care.
  • Recognize subtle changes in clinical status, provide discharge instructions to clients, and complete estimates and basic record-keeping tasks.
  • Induce, maintain, and monitor anesthesia for procedures, recover patients from anesthesia, and perform nursing care for all patients.
  • Utilize monitoring equipment, recognize trends, and perform dentistry and dental radiographs, as well as process laboratory samples and prepare them for outside labs.
  • Diagnostic imaging and pharmacy tasks are also an integral part of this role.

Requirements
