Job Title: Import Logistics Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Import Logistics Coordinator to join our team at FedEx Ground. As an Import Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the timely movement of freight/cargo.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers' front line personnel in various operating divisions and subsidiaries.
  • Documentation: Prepare, analyze, and submit documentation to agents and clients to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Problem Resolution: Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems that could delay the release or movement of freight.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain relationships with correspondent brokers, T&B, and other service providers to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Banking and Letters of Credit: Resolve banking and letter of credit problems.
  • Payment Terms: Advise customers on payment terms.
  • Billing Issues: Resolve billing issues and ensure accurate invoicing and vendor payments.
  • Data Input: Complete accurate data input or corrections into computer files.
  • Rate Development: Develop rates and/or provide quotes for the movement of freight.
  • Freight Forwarding Functions: Coordinate customer booking requests, set-up new shippers, and assist with restricted articles submission.
  • Import/Export Documentation: Complete import/export documentation in accordance with international trade regulations.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with clients regarding billing disputes, shipment status, developing new lanes, and improving service.
  • Dispatch and Tracking: Dispatch carriers to pick up at company locations and customer distribution centers, and track and trace functions.
  • iServe Cases: Work all iServe cases.
  • Oversized and Out-of-Gauge Shipments: Coordinate oversized and out-of-gauge shipments.
  • Hazmat Shipments: Handle hazmat shipments.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma/GED.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills.
  • Communication Skills: Strong customer service, organizational, and communication (written/oral) skills.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of freight forwarding or logistics required.
  • Regulations: Working knowledge of air export regulations, banking requirements for international trade, regulations regarding dangerous goods shipping, and foreign regulations.
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience in freight forwarding or logistics or work/field experience.
