Project Development Specialist

Job Description:As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading research projects from planning to reporting, ensuring that all research is technically well-designed, resourced, implemented, reported, and disseminated to the client and public on time and within budget.
You will play a crucial role in managing research and technical staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality research. Additionally, you will engage with public officials and conduct extensive community outreach, including local organizations and activists, council members, commissioners, and directors.
The focus of your work will be on disparity, diversity, equity, and inclusion for private and governmental clients.
- You will independently lead research projects from the initial phase of planning to closeout.
- You will supervise Deputy Project Managers, Data Team, internal teams, subconsultants, and external contractors on engagements to which you are assigned.
- You will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of GRIFFIN & STRONG P C's methodology and disparity research.
- You will ensure that all research is technically well-designed according to GRIFFIN & STRONG P C's methodology.
- You will be the primary liaison with clients and stakeholders as a representative of GRIFFIN & STRONG P C.
- You will be responsible for reporting to clients at regular intervals and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- You will maintain and manage project schedules and budgets.
- You will assist in training Deputy Project Managers and report to the Senior Director on their conduct and progress.
- You will train or manage the training of GRIFFIN & STRONG P C's subconsultants in the firm's methodology and process according to the Subconsultant Guide and efficiently manage the production of deliverables.
- You will engage with public officials, plan project-related events, conduct extensive community outreach in each jurisdiction with stakeholders (local organizations, business owners, activists, council members, commissioners, and directors).
- You will engage with clients to troubleshoot and resolve any issues or disputes.
- You will work with a team of experts to produce a final document and contribute meaningfully to the production of findings and recommendations on each assigned study.
- Final responsibility for the content of all correspondence with clients and the public and any and all written deliverables on a project; manages editing and proofreading of all documents.
- You will stay abreast of the latest developments in the fields of economic development, stakeholder engagement, disparity research, and public policy.
- You will manage the dissemination of materials and information on relevant projects for social media and the website design for each project.
As Needed:
- Capable of drafting policy and anecdotal chapters.
- Able to budget and price disparity studies.
- Able to create and present presentations (PPT).
- Can conduct informational meetings and respond to questions from the public.
- Able to conduct public hearings and focus groups.
- Able to read, interpret, and respond to RFPs for disparity studies.
The Project Manager reports to the Project Management Coordinator and the Senior Manager of the Consulting Group.
