Job Summary:

Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse - Zion Medical Center, Full-Time Nights

Job Summary: As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Kaiser Permanente, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to patients of all ages, from infants to the elderly. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. You will also be responsible for educating patients and families about their health conditions, treatment options, and self-care techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop individualized care plans to meet those needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients' responses to those interventions.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families to promote health and wellness.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Current RN licensure in the state of California.
  • At least 6 months of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an emergency department or critical care unit.
  • Certification in a specialty area, such as trauma or pediatrics.

Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The nurse must be able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. The nurse must also be able to lift, push, and pull patients and equipment as needed.
