Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Room at Naval Medical Center San Diego, CA. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate patient care, ensuring optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice, adhering to established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Perform physical exams, health histories, and provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
  • Administer medications, wound care, and other personalized interventions.
  • Direct care provided by other healthcare professionals, making patient care assignments based on scope of practice and skill level.
  • Recognize adverse signs and symptoms, reacting quickly in emergency situations.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people, informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
  • Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.
  • Perform nursing services identified in the TO, conducting research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.


Requirements:

  • Education: Possess a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, a Graduate Diploma in Nursing, or an Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited agency.
  • Experience: Possess a minimum of three years-experience within the last four years as an Emergency Room RN or extensive previous experience as an Emergency Room RN within the last six years.
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse.
  • Security: Must possess the ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
  • Life Support Certification: Possess a current AHA or ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification, ACLS & PALS.


Pay Scale: $75.00 - $90.00 per hour, to be determined based on qualifications, experience, and location.
