Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop engineering designs for projects related to new runway and taxiway construction, existing pavement upgrades, airfield lighting systems, hangar layouts, and fencing. Experience in designing drainage structures for airfields, including culverts and stormwater management systems, is essential.
  • Lead the creation of comprehensive airport design plans, including grading, drainage, markings, navigational aids, lighting, and other design components typical of airport construction documentation.
  • Prepare engineering fee estimates and project schedules to align with project specifications.
  • Independently execute all necessary tasks to finalize primary design elements for engineering projects.
  • Utilize technical expertise to review, approve, and seal engineering work.
  • Support colleagues and mentor junior engineers and technical staff in design and drafting.
  • Ensure adherence to KSA practices and compliance with quality, safety, and governmental design standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in aviation or transportation engineering.
  • Possession of a current Professional Engineering License in Texas or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
  • Experience in producing and delivering construction drawings and specifications for airport or transportation projects.
  • Proficient in advanced Civil3D applications with a focus on corridor modeling, grading, and drainage design.
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite, including TEAMS, Word, Excel, Newforma, and Bluebeam.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary airport improvement projects.
  • Background in construction administration for public infrastructure.
  • Experience in delivering aviation or transportation projects for public entities in Texas.
  • Ability to manage survey, Geotech, and other subconsultants effectively.
  • Experience in proposal preparation and interview processes.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
