We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at the University of New Mexico. As a Per Diem RN, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating age-specific considerations and discharge planning.
- Administer medications, including IV medications, via the Seven Rights, and document and communicate clinical findings.
- Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained.
- Participate in orientation and assume precepting and evaluation responsibilities of new personnel.
- 1 year of directly related experience as a Registered Nurse.
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification within 30 days of hire.
- RN licensure in New Mexico or as allowed by reciprocal agreement.
- PALS certification within 6 months of hire.
- Basic Arrhythmia Certification within 1 year of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within 6 months of hire.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within 6 months of hire.
- Nationally Certified in area of specialty.
- PALS certification.
- TNCC and/or ENPC certification.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to biohazardous materials and chemicals. The successful candidate will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
