Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our team at Reading Co-Operative Bank. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounts payable, general ledger accounting, and financial close and reporting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounts Payable Management: Prepare and maintain the Accounts Payable Function, including checking and preparing all vouchers for payment, auditing various bills against delivery manifests, answering vendor inquiries, and preparing accounts payable checks.
  • General Ledger Accounting: Verify and post details to general ledger accounts, balance and prepare reconciliations for various general ledger accounts and internal checking accounts on a daily and monthly basis.
  • Financial Close and Reporting: Record the addition of fixed assets and depreciation, process payments and accrued interest entries on investments, and process wire transfers through ACBB Apex system.
  • Reconciliations and Troubleshooting: Assist with daily reconciliations of ACBB, transit check reconciliation, and Federal Reserve Bank reconciliation, and troubleshoot and research as required.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or any other related field.
  • Experience: Two to four years of related business and accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, effective communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively with diverse team members and partners.
