Receiving Chemist I

Job Summary:

The Receiving Chemist I is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient processing of lab packs and drum receiving/coding at our facility. This role requires a reliable and team-oriented individual with excellent commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Offload containers from Van trailers upon arrival at the facility
• Receive all incoming containers and properly code all waste for disposal processing
• Complete all paperwork associated with consolidation process and perform waste tracking operations through Clean Harbors proprietary software, WIN
• Sample all incoming drums and perform basic chemical analysis of samples following prescribed procedures
• Calibrate and utilize lab instrumentation required to run basic analysis, complete all paperwork associated with analysis and drum sampling, and ensure that all work meets applicable QA/QC guidelines
• Assign proper disposal process code and/or outbound profile to all drums
• Convey critical verbal and written information to internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure real-time tracking of all containers via Clean Harbors WIN system in conjunction with handheld scanners
• Supply management in their area of responsibility, and best management practices including proper housekeeping

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• 1+ Year(s) experience with Windows-based computer applications
• 1+ year Warehouse or Plant experience preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Previous experience in one or more of the following fields preferred: Warehouse, Quality Control, Chemical Handling, Laboratory, or Inventory Management
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Forklift experience is a plus
• Must be clean shaven
• Ability to work in adverse environment such as cold and heat
