Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Animal Health Professional to join our team at the ASPCA. As a key member of our Community Medicine team, you will play a critical role in providing expert veterinary care to support the welfare of animals and their people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality veterinary care to animals in need, including spay/neuter surgery, preventive care, and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries.
  • Work collaboratively with veterinarians, assistants, and other team members to ensure seamless care and excellent client service.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing education and support to help them make informed decisions about their pets' health and well-being.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical knowledge and best practices, participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, promoting a culture of compassion, respect, and excellence in animal care.
Requirements
  • Current New York State Veterinary Technician License.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of veterinary science technology (2 or 4 year program).
  • Strong interest in animal welfare and excellent animal handling skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients.
  • Ability to work standing for 8-plus hours and lift and carry 40-plus pounds repeatedly throughout the day with assistance.
  • Fluent English language skills; bilingual (fluent in English and Spanish) preferred.
