Job Title: Government Relations Director for Live Entertainment Industry

Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience

This role will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Public Affairs and Policy to help advance the company's agenda with Congress, the Administration and other key advocacy/stakeholder groups in Washington, D.C.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of public policy and/or political experience and be proficient in MS Office Applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

This role will work closely with the Senior Director, Government Relations and Public Policy to develop and advance federal government affairs strategy with the executive and legislative branches.

The successful candidate will be able to articulate our policy positions in briefing papers, consultation responses, and internal policy meetings, as well as identify, monitor, and analyze relevant policy trends, legislative proposals, and issues of importance to the company.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Helping to develop and advance federal government affairs strategy with the executive and legislative branches;
  • Coordinating advocacy work with outside consultants, trade organizations, and policy-related organizations;
  • Serving as an effective advocate of the company's agenda with members of Congress, their staff, and relevant federal agencies;
  • Maintaining and building relationships with key policymakers;
  • Articulating our policy positions in briefing papers, consultation responses, and internal policy meetings;
  • Identifying, monitoring, and analyzing relevant policy trends, legislative proposals, and issues of importance to the company;
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • 5+ years of public policy and/or political experience;
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook;
  • A keen understanding of executing broad government relations strategy as well as developing and implementing U.S. legislation, regulations, and other policies;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience creating and effectively delivering factual, relevant, and easily understandable talking points and other messaging;
  • Able to maintain the highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and integrity;
  • Familiarity with the issues affecting the live entertainment industry is a plus;
  • Ability to become knowledgeable on legislative process and policy issues related to the live entertainment industry;
  • Experience identifying and understanding key technical aspects pertaining to corporate operations, understanding business implications, synthesizing information for internal and external customers, and recommending a best course of action;
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at the highest corporate, legislative, regulatory agency, and other government levels;
  • Be willing and able to travel;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and exercising sound judgment and discretion;
  • Strong organizational skills: ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize, and able to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs;
  • Cooperative, flexible, team-oriented attitude;
