Federal Government Relations Leader

This role is located in Washington D.C. and requires a proven leader to analyze Federal legislation and agency regulations on behalf of SEMA members.
About the Role:
- Analyze Federal legislation and agency regulations (including those from EPA, NHTSA/DOT, and BLM/DOI) on behalf of SEMA members
- Assist members with compliance and communicate updates through written newsletters, seminars, and webinars
- Advocate for SEMA members' interests on Capitol Hill and through agency contacts, comments, and rule-making
As a key member of SEMA's government relations office, you will work closely with the Sr. Director of Federal Government Affairs and the government relations team to advance the industry's agenda.
You will be responsible for building relationships with legislators, regulators, and other key stakeholder groups in Washington to design and execute our government relations strategy.
Responsibilities:- Monitor and identify relevant legislative and regulatory proposals at the federal level
- Provide summaries and detailed analyses of federal legislative and regulatory proposals that may impact member companies
- Develop positions and initiate activities in support of SEMA's position on federal legislative and regulatory proposals
This role requires 4+ years of Capitol Hill experience, executive branch/federal agency, or trade association/corporation experience. You should have experience with the legislative and regulatory process, superior written and oral communication skills, and research and analytical skills relevant to government affairs.
Estimated Annual Base Salary: $120,000 - $140,000
